North Richland Hills police officers rescued a small exotic animal found seeking shade from the Texas heat Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded to Rufe Snow Drive and Loop 820 after reports of a kangaroo or monkey was seen outside a local business. Officers say they found the unique animal overheated and thirsty.
Officers Davis, Little and Lund safely caught the animal and turned it over to North Richland Hills Animal Services, which is helping it recover.
Officials are now working to find the animal’s owner or a facility that can provide the specialized care it needs.
