A couple of North Texas acts are coming home with Grammy hardware from last night's award show in Los Angeles.
The Denton-based jazz-funk band Snarky Puppy won the Grammy for contemporary instrumental album for the Dallas-themed Empire Central, recorded live last year in Deep Ellum. This is Snarky Puppy's fifth Grammy.
Fort Worth gospel star Kirk Franklin also won three Grammys, giving him a career total of 19.
Other North Texas acts were nominated but are coming home empty-handed including Kelly Clarkson, Norah Jones, Pentatonix, Maren Morris and Miranda Lambert.
