A North Texas man is accused of posing as an attorney and scamming jail inmates and their families, officials said.
The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office and Sheriff’s Office say 60-year-old Ramond Davis Jr. contacted inmates in the Tarrant County Jail, offering legal help. Investigators say he then met with families and collected about $3,000 for representation.
Authorities determined Davis is not a licensed attorney. He was arrested after a warrant was issued.
The investigation is ongoing, and officials believe there may be additional victims. If you believe you may have been contacted by this individual or victimized in a similar manner, please contact the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office at 817-884-1400 and ask to speak with investigator T. Johnson or V. Espino-Nevarez.
