North Texas man indicted for 2021 fatal boat crash

A North Texas man has been indicted for a fatal boat crash in 2021, he's now facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter.

Reports say the accident happened on an August night in 2021 when a boat with six people on board crashed into the rocks along the shore of Lewisville Lake near the Highway 720 bridge in Little Elm.

All six passengers were tossed on the rocks. Most of those sustained minor injures except for 44-year old Charles Obhiambo, who as killed.

Texas parks and wildlife says the man who was piloting the boat at the time of the crash was identified as Rammy Rotich, and officials say he was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Following his recent indicement, if convicted of the intoxication manslaughter charge, Rotich could be sentenced to 20-years in prison.

He is currently out of jail on bond.
