A North Texas singer is recovering after she was shot while signing autographs following a performance at The Black Academy of Arts and Letters in Dallas on Saturday, police say.
Jada Arnell Thomas had just finished a performance and was signing autographs when a woman in the crowd opened fire, according to officials. Curtis King, the director of the academy, confirmed that Thomas is recovering.
Authorities said staff members tracked down the suspected shooter, identified as 26-year-old Micah Williams, who was later arrested by Dallas police nearby. Williams faces an aggravated assault charge.
