There's a lot of clean-up and fixing up to do after yesterday's storms rumbled through North Texas.
The National Weather Service will be out today to figure out if the damage came from a tornado or from straight line winds. But it really doesn't matter for those who've suffered damage.
In Preston Hollow, at least one home on Northaven Road had much of its roof peeled off, leaving debris strewn about its back yard. The same home was heavily damaged in the 2019 tornado that raked a wide swath of North Dallas and Richardson.
And right across the street is North Haven Gardens, the same nursery that was flattened in that same tornado two years ago.
"The sirens came on and very quickly the store manager said they heard the whoosh, like a freight train was coming at them," says Cody Hoya, General Manager of North Haven Gardens. "It lasted probably less than a minute before they looked out and saw all the destruction and mess."
"Another tornado basically came through and now I've got even more damage," says one homeowner whose house was destroyed by the tornadoes in 2019. "I can't even live in my house. I'm in a rental and [after yesterday] it's flooded."
Elsewhere, there was heavy flooding in Dallas and some cars were swamped near Greenville Avenue and Walnut Hill.
Overnight, Dallas Fire-Rescue had to help a number of the homeless who were swamped with high water near Northwest Highway and Loop 12 Walton Walker.
