Fort Worth police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and five others injured late Saturday night in the city’s busy West 7th entertainment district.

Officers were called just before midnight to reports of gunfire near several nightclubs in the area. When they arrived, they found multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One man died at the scene, and five others were taken to nearby hospitals with varying injuries.

Police say the shooting appears to have been unprovoked. Witnesses told investigators that the suspects ran away on foot immediately after the gunfire. As of Sunday morning, no arrests have been made.

Detectives and crime scene investigators spent the night gathering evidence and reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses. Fort Worth police are asking anyone with information or video from the area to contact homicide detectives or Crime Stoppers.

The West 7th district, a popular nightlife and dining area between downtown and the Cultural District, was crowded at the time of the shooting. Police say increased patrols are planned in the area as the investigation continues.
