One person is dead after a crash overturned their vehicle into a creek in Allen early Sunday morning.
Police say the crash happened at the intersection of Bethany Drive and Whitman Drive just after midnight on Sunday. The investigation suggests a Dodge Challenger was speeding on and collided with a Honda CR-V that was driving in the same direction. The driver of the Challenger lost control leaving the roadway and overturning in the creek.
Officers at the scene were able to extract the single occupant driver of the vehicle identified as Taranjeet Singh. Despite the Allen Fire Department administering life-saving measures, Singh was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Honda CR-V did remain at the scene of the accident and cooperated with authorities. The investigation is ongoing.
