Search crews have recovered a body in Clear Creek in Denton. They were called out to the creek on Tuesday after a woman told 9-1-1 that her husband had fallen into the water while fishing from the bank.
The Denton Fire Department responded to the scene. They were assisted by Denton Police, the Lewisville Fire Department's Dive Team, the Flower Mound Fire Department and Texas Game Wardens. They searched the water for several hours on Tuesday until it got too dark to continue.
They resumed their work Wednesday morning and located a body just after 2:30pm. It was about 100 yards downstream from where the victim had gone into the water. The Denton Fire Department is not releasing the name of the victim. The body will be turned over to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office for identification.
This case was one of several drownings in Denton County in the past few days. A McKinney man drowned at Lewisville Lake Tuesday night. A woman also drowned in Lewisville Lake off Little Elm Park.
