One person died in a crash in Rowlett that closed the I-30 bridge over Lake Ray Hubbard for several hours last night.
At about 6:00 p.m. Rowlett police reported the multi-vehicle crash on the west-bound side of I-30 just before Dalrock.
In addition to the one person who died, two others were taken to the hospital with what are said to be non-life-threatening injuries.
With the interstate closed, the west-bound back-up was terrible. Police Chief Max Geron said they were trying to get cars turned around and going up the on-ramp from Horizon Road, the last ramp before I-30 crosses the lake.
West-bound I-30 remained closed until after 11 p.m.
