Downtown Dallas Inc., which is running the Main Street activities during the World Cup, is trying to keep fans as cool as possible.

The outdoor event in Downtown Dallas happening throughout the tournament will also include the Pegasus Plaza Chill Zone specifically to fight off the summer heat.

Shalissa Perry with Downtown Dallas Inc. says they have several ways for people to take a break from the heat.

"We are going to have things like popsicles and ice cream. There is plenty of shade in that park," Perry said. "Just make it a fun area where people can, yes, get away from the hustle and bustle and just chill."

There are plenty of restaurants and other art installations in that area as well. There is also an art mister.

"Somebody can walk up to the mister, they can turn a crank, there's music, there's lights, and they get a nice mist of cool water," Perry said. "We'll have those throughout Main Street Garden and Harwood Park as well."

Downtown Dallas Inc. also planted about 500 more trees in Downtown Dallas this year.

This Saturday will be the first Main Street Social Saturday where Main Street will be blocked to vehicle traffic.
