Storms have moved on to the east of Dallas-Fort Worth after rocking through North Texas overnight.
Sunday evening, ferocious storms moved through bringing hundreds of quite vivid lightning strikes. The same storms dropped hail from North Texas down to the Hill Country.
In Dallas-Fort Worth, Addison and University Park reported half-dollar sized hail, Garland neighborhoods had rail ranging from the size of quarters to golf balls and Richardson had at least one report of ping pong ball hail stones.
The storms moved into Ellis County where Waxahachie reported quarter-sized hail.
Rain was torrential in the southern part of Dallas County. For example, Dallas Red Bird Airport and Lancaster Airports both recorded just over an inch in about two hours.
As of 6 a.m. Oncor was reporting nearly 35,000 power outages. About 1,600 were in Dallas County, 1,800 in Ellis County, 3,400 in Henderson County, and almost 12,000 in Smith County.
