An Ellis County man is going to prison for life after being convicted of sexually assaulting a child.

The Ellis County District Attorney's office says Palmer resident Joseph Lavon Green was given a sentence of four life terms because he has a prior conviction for sexually assaulting a child in Connecticut in the early and mid-90s.

This time he was convicted of repeatedly sexually abusing a child at home in Palmer and Ennis for seven years beginning in 2008.

The judge ordered Green to serve his four life terms consecutively meaning he would die in prison.
