Representatives from the luxury car network, Park Place Dealerships, are visiting 24 non-profits in North Texas this week to hand out grants as part of the company's "Season of Giving." Park Place says 350 non-profits applied, and the company is giving out a total of $100,000.
"We wanted to find ways to give back to our communities that are loyal and support us," says Park Place Marketing Director Anam Ali Hashambhai.
Hashambhai says representatives from the dealerships are surprising non-profits with checks Monday and Tuesday. Non-profits are receiving between $2,000 and $10,000.
This year, Hashambhai says Park Place focused on four "pillars": advocacy, the arts, education, and medical.
"These are important to us," she says. "They have direct impact on the local community."
Especially this year, she says more people are noticing the importance of education and medical research.
"We've understood this past year has been a struggle for many non-profits from manpower to funding. The simplest thing: money," Hashambhai says.
She says Park Place has donated to more than 250 charities over the past 35 years.
