A 16-year-old is facing multiple felony charges after investigators say the teen used artificial intelligence to create fake nude images of younger children and posted them on TikTok.
The Parker County Sheriff’s Office began investigating after receiving information from Celina police on Sept. 29. The investigation started in July, when TikTok reported a user posting child sexual abuse images to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The tip was initially sent to Celina police, who later determined the images had been uploaded from Parker County.
Investigators executed a search warrant at the teen’s home on Oct. 1 and seized multiple electronic devices. Authorities say the teen admitted to taking photos of a younger child and using AI to alter the images to make the child appear nude.
Additional search warrants were obtained for the devices and the teen’s TikTok account. Evidence reviewed Oct. 8 indicated the teen had obtained photos of at least three other children, used AI to create fake explicit images and uploaded them to the platform, according to investigators.
Authorities said they identified all the juvenile victims and notified their families.
The teen faces charges of second-degree felony possession of child pornography, state jail felony voyeurism involving a child victim and state jail felony possession of certain visual material depicting a child.
