Parkland Health has reported a data breach this week, saying a hacker gained access to sensitive patient information, including names, birth dates, and medical records.
The health system disclosed the breach to the Texas Attorney General's office and has begun to notify individuals whose information may have been compromised. The extent of the breach and the number of people affected have not yet been disclosed.
Parkland Health said it is working to address the security lapse and prevent future incidents, while offering resources to assist those potentially impacted by the breach.
