Parkland is making it easier for more Dallas County kids to get vaccinated it is ready to roll out its new mobile vaccination clinic.

In an effort to increase immunizations, Parkland Health has a new mobile clinic it will be sent to schools so students can get caught up with their immunizations while they are at school. The goal is to improve vaccination rates among kids, especially kids in underserved communities.

Students will be advised when the mobile clinic will be at their school. They can bring home a permission slip to be signed and when they bring that back to school, the nurse will take them from their classroom to the mobile clinic for their shot. Parents do not have to be present.

Retired Dallas Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson secured federal money for the mobile unit before she left office last year.
Parkland plans to show off the mobile clinic at the Dallas School District Fam Jam event this Saturday from 9 to noon at the Obama Male Leadership Academy.
