Parkland says elderly patients in Dallas County are receiving phone calls that appear to originate from a Parkland number, in which the caller is stating that he or she is in the neighborhood and is offering a home healthcare checkup for $50.

Parkland advises you that none of its employees will ever ask patients for cash while inside their homes.

Furthermore, it says the caller is spoofing its number to make it appear that the call is originating from its call center, when in fact it's not.

Parkland says if you doubt the validity of a call, ask for their direct number and say that you'll call right back. That will usually cause the scammer to get flustered and hang up.
