One person has died after being struck by traffic in northeast Fort Worth near DFW Airport Tuesday night.
The first 911 calls came in just past 10 p.m. informing police that a pedestrian had been hit on eastbound Highway 183 just east of Highway 360.
The victim was already dead when police and paramedics arrived.
Fort Worth police say the man was walking on the inside shoulder as a car was approaching from behind. For reasons unknown, the man then stepped into the far left lane where the driver was unable to avoid hitting him.
Investigators have not said why the victim was on foot on the freeway in the first place.
The driver did stop at the scene and was reportedly cooperating with investigators.
