Just past 4 a.m. Police say a person on foot on the westbound side was run over near Saint Francis. The victim was already dead when Dallas County Sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene.
Investigators quickly closed down all westbound lanes, saying the closure would likely last past rush hour.
This is the second pedestrian fatality in Dallas Fort Worth over the weekend.
On Sunday, a man was struck and killed on I-20 in far west Tarrant County near the I-30 merge. He was out of his car exchanging information and waiting following a crash with a semi-truck.
