PLANO (1080 KRLD)- Members of the Plano Animal Services team got an unusual call recently. They were asked to rescue a deer in a residential neighborhood.
The call came in from a home near Parker Road and Midway Road. When the city employees arrived, they saw a deer had gotten stuck in an iron fence outside a home. Three employees of Plano Animal Services worked together to keep the animal calm and remove it from the fence.
They took it back to the Plano Animal Shelter, then contacted officials with an animal rescue group with experience in treating wounded deer. That group plans to keep the animal until it is healthy enough to be returned to its natural habitat.
