A Plano Police officer has been placed on administrative leave after his arrest for domestic violence.
Officials say on May 22, Wylie police were called to a report of domestic violence. The man they arrested was Plano Police narcotics officer Zachary Petty.
The victim, according to records, is the widow of murdered Richardson police officer David Sherrard who was killed in February of 2018.
Petty's lawyer, Todd Shapiro, tells KRLD news the initial arrest was May 22nd for a misdemeanor offense, but then Wylie returned three days later with a more serious charge of continuous family violence. He denies there was any domestic violence.
