Hurricanes Ida and Nicholas tore through Louisiana causing destruction and disrupting the way of life. Some of those affected were first responders.
Just as they are torn between the responsibility of recovering their own homes and belongings and also responding to the needs of their community, fellow firefighters from out of state came to help.
Battalion Chief, Jaime Reyes is a 22 year veteran with Plano Fire Rescue. He was part of an effort with five strike teams from different cities in Texas that also traveled to Louisiana to help.
Upon his return this week, he joined the KRLD Afternoon News with Kristin Diaz and David Rancken to discuss his two-week experience of assisting those fellow firefighters with relief of their duties.
