A Plano family has a big mess to clean up after the fire that raced through their home Wednesday.
Fire crews from Plano and Murphy converged on the home on Mulvane Drive in east Plano near the Murphy line.
Reoirts say the flames burned through the roof while smoke and water did heavy damage to the ground level. It took about an hour to douse the flames.
Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading. In fact, neighbors were so grateful they brought over iced fresh fruit for the firefighters to enjoy once they were taken off the front line.
Temperatures were over 100 degrees in Plano at the time.
