A Plano man will likely die in prison after a judge passes down a sentence for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.
Plano Police began investigating after a 13-year-old victim told a therapist about the abuse.
58-year-old Victor Cornejo was eventually arrested for the abuse which is said to have happened over several months in 2022 and 2023.
A forensic interviewer talked to the victim who gave a detailed account of the abuse.
Cornejo was found guilty and sentenced to 50 years in prison.
"This sentence ensures that this predator will spend the rest of his life behind bars - exactly where he belongs," Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis said. "He robbed a child of safety and trust, and justice demands that he never have the chance to harm another."
In Texas, Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child carries a mandatory sentence without eligibility for parole.
