A Plano man is going to prison for life in the 2017 murder of his pregnant ex-girlfriend, an Arlington woman who was shot in her bed the Friday before Easter.
A few days after the killing, Keith Haynes was tracked down to his Plano apartment and arrested.
Monday, Haynes was convicted of capital murder and received an automatic sentence of life with no possibility of parole. Prosecutors called Haynes "a coward" who killed Kenisha Walker and her unborn baby as Walker slept.
Reports said Ms. Walker had been afraid Haynes might kill her to the extent that she forwarded texts from him to a friend, saying "If I ever come up dead, show the police this and other screenshots."
