A Plano man is going to prison for life, his sentence for stabbing a man to death two years ago.
Reports say the victim, Emilio Romero, was stabbed more than 60 times and bled out in a van stopped in a parking lot in east Plano.
A witness followed another van and passed the location on to police who chased down 56-year-old Artemio Yanez. When officers searched the van they found a bloody knife. Yanez also was covered with blood on his arms and face. A second witness had video showing the attack.
After being convicted of murder, Yanez was given a life sentence.
Plano detectives never did figure out why Yanez did it. They say both men were apparently homeless and living out of their vans.
