Police: Missing 65-year-old Plano woman found safe

Plano police have been searching for a 65-year-old woman who went missing around this time yesterday. Police are now saying that woman has been found - and is safe.

Plano police have issued a silver alert for 65-year-old Nita Barnes. Police say Barnes has been diagnosed with a cognitive impairment and could be in danger.

Police describe Barnes as a white woman, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen around noon Sunday on Preston Road in Plano and was wearing a black bucket hat, a grey t-shirt, dark denim shorts, and purple shoes.
