The city of Plano is seeking a court order to widen its investigation into prostitution and human trafficking.

Investigators believe incidents of prostitution and human trafficking are being conducted in shopping centers. The city calls this "the sex trade hiding behind the facade of a shopping center."

Sex businesses in Plano have been in the news lately. Just last week, the Tennyson Wellness Center on Preston Road was closed down as part of a city-wide crackdown on prostitution and sex crimes at massage parlors.

Last year, police broke up a prostitution ring working out of short-term rentals.

Now, Plano is seeking a court order to investigate Red Rose, another spa they believe is a front for prostitution and human trafficking. Investigators claim online ads for Red Rose show scantily clad young girls in sexual poses.

Court documents filed by the city say some girls are depicted as so-called "school girls." Plano police say they have received numerous complaints about the spa.
