The body of a man was found inside a Denton home on Wednesday when officers conducted a welfare check, police say.
Denton police said they were contacted by the Social Security Administration to perform a welfare check on a recipient who would have been 103 years old.
When authorities entered the home in the 1500 block of Wellington Drive, they found "that the conditions inside of the home presented a significant health hazard." They also found the body of a man they believe to be the one the Social Security Administration had been looking for.
Detectives said they believe the man "has been dead inside the home for a significant time and a death investigation is ongoing."
A man and a woman were also found inside the home. Due to the condition of the home, they were taken to the hospital to get checked out. Denton police said no charges have been filed but there's still investigating to do.
