Fort Worth police say a woman was shot and killed during a confrontation with a security guard on the city’s south side.
Officers were called Thursday to the 2600 block of South Riverside Drive, where they found an adult woman with a gunshot wound to the chest. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
Police said the security guard at the location was detained for questioning. According to investigators, the guard told the woman she needed to leave the property, and the two argued.
Detectives said the woman advanced toward the guard, who then used pepper spray. Reports say the woman then grabbed a “stabbing weapon” from nearby and advanced again, and the guard fired his gun, police said.
Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate. The names of those involved have not yet been released.
