Fort Worth Police are looking for the shooter who opened fire at an elementary school Thursday evening.

Police got word about the incident around 7 p.m. when they got a call from officials at JPS hospital saying a man had shown up at the emergency room with a bullet wound in his leg.

The gunshot victim claimed he'd been shot at Carroll Peak Elementary School where he said two men were quarreling. As he put it to the police, one of the men pulled a gun and started shooting and he was caught in the line of fire.

The male victim insisted he was not the intended target. He was able to hobble to the home of a relative who lives near the school. That relative drove him to JPS about a mile away.

Police say he is in stable condition.
