A killer ib Philadelphia has gunned down the police officer son of former Fort Worth Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald.
Temple University president Jason Wingard says campus police officer Christopher Fitzgerald was fatally shot trying to stop a robbery over the weekend.
Reports say the killer got away but was captured Sunday evening. He was arrested using Fitzgerald's own handcuffs.
Joel Fitzgerald was Fort Worth police chief for nearly four years until he was fired in 2019. He has sued for reinstatement, saying he was fired for being a whistleblower. He said he was investigating City Hall corruption.
