Dallas police now say Friday night's gas leak in Pleasant Grove all started with a drug deal.

A drug deal was reportedly going down in the parking lot of an apartment complex on North Masters near Lake June. But the buyer and seller both pulled pistols and shot one another.

One victim named Andrew Patterson was behind the wheel of his car when he was shot. But in his final moments, he drove forward, slammed into two parked cars, crashed into a natural gas line and then into a building. Patterson was already dead when police got there.

An Atmos crew rushed in and turned off the gas. Meanwhile, on the other side of the complex, a teenager also believed to have been involved in the drug deal was found bleeding from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital but no condition has been released.
