A woman is dead and a man is in a Dallas hospital following a SWAT standoff Wednesday.
Dallas Police report they were called about gunshots at a Motel 6 on Market Center Boulevard. They were told an undientified woman had shot a man inside one of the rooms.
When officers arrived they attempted to make contact with the woman, but she refused to come out and the SWAT team was called in.
When the SWAT team arrived police report she still would not come out, and believing a man had been shot, SWAT officers forced their way in to the room. But as they were entering the room they heard gunfire. The woman had shot herself.
Reports say she died at the scene. The wounded man was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
This is considered an in-custody death so the investigation is in the hands of the DPD Special Investigations Unit.
