A break-in at an American Legion Post in southwest Dallas has left post members frustrated and searching for answers, while police search for suspects.

The incident happened at American Legion Post 424 on South Ledbetter Drive. Post Commander Corey Fields said thieves stole a safe containing about $3,000 but left behind other valuable items, including a brand-new TV near the bar and a laptop in the office.

Fields condemned the theft, calling the perpetrators “savages” and describing the crime as an attack on a space dedicated to honoring and supporting veterans.

Security footage from the post captured images of the suspects, but they are difficult to identify. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
