A woman is dead and a man is in the hospital after they were shot in South Dallas early this morning.
Police reports say the first 9-1-1 calls came in just past 1 a.m. sending police to the scene on South Malcolm X Boulevard, about a mile south of Fair Park.
Police found the wounded victims in front of a home near Malcolm X and Carpenter. They were both rushed to the hospital where the woman was pronounced dead. The man's condition has not been released.
Police recovered dozens of spent shell casings from the street and sidewalk indicating multiple guns were being fired. It's not clear if the victims were participants or were, perhaps, caught in the crossfire.
