It has not been confirmed but ERCOT's preliminary numbers show Texas set a record for electricity usage Wednesday.
On Thursday, ERCOT expects a 15,000 megawatt excess of power supply over demand, even during the hottest part of the day between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Today's high temperatures will range from the low 90s along the Texas coast to the mid-90s in the Panhandle to triple digits in Central, North and East Texas.
The Dallas-Fort Worth area is under a Heat Advisory through 8 p.m. thursday evening. Today's expected high at DFW Airport is 104 with enough humidity to make the Heat Index 109.
