Federal prosecutors in Texas have filed the first antifa-related terrorism charges against two men accused of carrying out a July 4 attack on an ICE detention center in Alvarado, about 30 minutes south of Fort Worth.

Authorities say the suspects fired shots at the facility and were part of what they describe as an “antifa cell.”

The two suspects are Cameron Arnold (also known as Autumn Hill) and Zachary Evetts, who were indicted in connection with the July 4 attack at the Prairieland ICE detention facility in Alvarado.

The Justice Department says both men are charged with providing material support to terrorists, attempted murder of federal officers, and using firearms during a violent crime.

Prosecutors say the case marks the first time the government has applied terrorism statutes to an alleged antifa operation.

Officials have not released details on possible additional suspects or the extent of the damage at the detention site. Both defendants remain in federal custody as the investigation continues.
