Federal prosecutors are asking a judge to order an actor from Dallas detained without bond until trial for his role in the U.S. Capitol uprising.

Luke Coffee is the man seen using a crutch to fight and restrain US Capitol Police last month and is a threat, a flight risk and cannot be let out of jail, court papers say.   A US Magistrate judge has set a hearing for next week to hear arguments.

Coffee has been jailed since turning himself in late last month on charges of assaulting a federal officer with a dangerous weapon, interference with a law enforcement officer, obstructing an official proceeding, the unlawful entry on restricted grounds and disorderly conduct on capitol grounds.

U.S. Capitol Police have used body camera video of the Dallas-based actor, producer and director showing him, both fighting with police and using the crutch to push officers back while a crowd attacked another officer during the insurrection Jan. 6, an arrest affidavit says.

Web sites say Coffee has appeared as a bit actor in several television productions.  His website names him as a producer, director and actor
