A North Texas man has died in a New York medical helicopter crash.
Officials say the helicopter crashed Tuesday in Elba, a small town in far west New York about midway between Rochester and Buffalo.
One of the victims identified as Stewart Dietrick was from Prosper and worked for Bell Helicopter. He was in New York for training.
The other victim was a retired New York State Police Pilot. Reports say the two were training in a Bell Helicopter belonging to a medical evacuation company when it crashed.
Mercy Flights Executive Vice President Scott Wooton says: "It goes without saying that our attention needs to be focused on the families of those lost and on our own employees as we deal with this unspeakable tragedy. This is a very dark day for the Mercy Flight family, we are so grateful for the expressions of love, concern and support expressed by many."
