Bystanders have been leaving cards and stuffed animals at a memorial to the victims of this weekend's shooting in Allen.

A makeshift memorial was erected Sunday at one of the entrances to the Allen Premium Outlets where 8 people were killed and several others wounded.

Some of the victims have been identified by officials and three of the victims were members of one family.

Two of the victims were husband and wife identified as 37-year old Cho Kyu Song and 35-year old Kang Shin Young. They had a small child who was killed and another who was wounded and is still hospitalized.

Two Cox Elementary students, fourth-grader Daniela Mendoza and second-grader Sofia Mendoza were also identified. Their mother, Ilda, remains in critical condition, according to an email from Wylie ISD Superintendent David Vinson.

Of those wounded and taken to local hospitals, Medical City Healthcare said three patients are in critical condition at Medical City McKinney, and one is in fair condition. Another patient is in fair condition at Medical City Plano and a final patient is in good condition at Medical City Children's Hospital.

Roberto Marquez, a painter who lives in Dallas, nailed together nine crosses, eight for each of the victims killed in Saturday's shooting and one for healing. Marquez says he's deeply affected by Saturday's tragedy.

The crosses are adorned with black ribbons and flowers. The big cross representing healing also has the Texas flag affixed to it.

People have been stopping by and adding to the memorial. One left a bear with a shirt reading, “Don’t hate in my state.” The man who left it says he hopes a response like this shows the gunman does not represent North Texans. “This really shows there are great people out there.”

State Rep. Jeff Leach, who represents Allen, delivered a memorial on the Texas House floor for those killed in the mall shooting.
