DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- Three years after a 12-year-old Dallas girl died in a natural gas explosion, the state is seeking $1.6-million in penalties against Atmos Energy.

In early 2018, Linda "Michellita" Rogers was killed when a gas leak exploded as she was getting ready for school. The Texas Railroad Commission found that Atmos failed to detect gas leaks in the days and months before the blast.

This would be the largest pipeline safety penalty ever levied by the Commission.
