The Texas Rangers are hosting the Houston Astros in Arlington for the third game in the American League Championship Series. The Rangers lead the series 2-0 after defeating the Astros in the first two games of the playoff series in Houston.
Fans are excited about the Rangers playoff game at home. Globe Life Field public address announcer Chuck Morgan says it won't be difficult to make sure fans are loud this evening.
"I don't think we'll have to do too much because the way this team has played...I think the fans will be ready to roll," he said.
The home playoff game means a big boost for businesses in Arlington.
"When you bring that many people here to town, everything gets better," said Arlington Mayor Jim Ross. "The restaurants get busy, hotels get busy. People shop more. There's just tons of stuff going on."
Ross says he's happy to show off the city to visitors.
"This is what Arlington was born for. We're here with a passion. It's awfully exciting," he said. "People are pumped about this."
The first pitch is at 7:03pm. You can hear the game on 105.3 The Fan.
On Newsradio 1080, Kristin Diaz and David Rancken are broadcasting live from Globe Life Field this afternoon.
