He wasn't even on the roster on Opening Day. Now the Texas Rangers are hoping a final flurry of support will put rookie sensation Adolis Garcia in the starting lineup for Major League Baseball's All-Star Game.

As the final phase of voting continues, results released Tuesday by MLB showed Garcia in sixth place among American League outfield finalists, with 10% of the vote.

Angels OF Mike Trout, out with an injury since mid-May, led the fan balloting with 20%. Aaron Judge of the Yankees was second (14%), with Minnesota's Byron Buxton in third place (12%).

The Rangers have heavily promoted Garcia's All-Star bid on social media, where the club's Twitter account features the hashtag #VoteAdolis.

Garcia, a 28-year-old rookie from Cuba, went into Wednesday's action tied for third in home runs in the AL, with 20.

Several members of the Houston Astros are near the top of their respective positions in AL All-Star voting. First baseman Yuli Gurriel, second baseman Jose Altuve, third baseman Alex Bregman, catcher Martin Maldonado and designated hitter Yordan Alvarez all stood in second place. Astros shortstop Carlos Correa was third, and outfielder Michael Brantley, third in batting average in the AL at .341, was in fourth place.

The tightest AL race is at second base, where Altuve trails Toronto's Marcus Semien by one percentage point.

Fan voting runs through 1 p.m. Central on Thursday. VOTE HERE!
