With Coronavirus restrictions again being imposed, it makes you wonder what's down the road.
Houston-area doctor and researcher Majid Basit says the uptick causing renewed restrictions does not even include any possible infections from Thanksgiving.
Because of the delay between exposure and infection, there's generally a lag of a week or two before one feels symptoms and might get tested.
Because of the delay, UT Southwestern Medical Center's latest coronavirus models predict that hospitalizations in both Tarrant and Dallas counties will continue to increase over the next two weeks as those infected at Thanksgiving gatherings begin to show up in the hospitals.
Also, UTSW reports Dallas County infection rates are rising in all age groups and that some of the biggest increases haveben in cities Balch Springs, Duncanville, Garland, Lancaster and Mesquite.
