We started off Thursday morning almost an inch below average for the year on rainfall at DFW airport. By the end of the day, 2.67" of rain fell, shattering the old record set back in 1947, when we measured 1.12".
We also had to deal with flood warnings for Dallas and Tarrant counties, where some areas measured over 4.00" of rain.
We woke up Friday morning with a surplus of 1.75" for 2024. This is great news with us leading into spring, our rainiest months are ahead.
Unfortunately, it is the beginning of severe weather season, so please remember to stay weather aware, not just for flooding, but for large hail, damaging wind, and isolated tornadoes through the middle of June.
