Reffitt bond still denied

Wylie (1080 KRLD)- A federal judge in Washington DC has heard more arguments in the federal charges against Guy Reffitt of Wylie and has once again ruled Reffitt is a threat and should remain in jail until his trial for the US Capitol riot.

Reffitt, 48, a drilling rig worker, has been in jail since his arrest in January for the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol building Jan 6. Reffitt has threatened his own family members with violence if they cooperated with federal investigators, the FBI says in court documents.

Reffitt is under indictment for three federal charges in connection with the January 6th insurrection. The charges are knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; obstruction of an official proceeding and aiding and abetting and obstruction of justice—hindering communication through physical force or threat of physical force.

The judge ordered prosecutors to abide by the speedy trial rules and gave attorneys to the end of next month to file their papers.
