A Tarrant County child abuser is going to prison for decades.

Two years ago, Burleson police arrested Matthew Zapata on charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. More information was developed and Fort Worth police took over the investigation, modfying the charge to Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child under 14.

That child turned out to be just nine and investigators say he sexually abused her repeatedly. Before the case could go to trial, Zapata accepted a plea deal calling for a prison sentence of 60 years.
