The cops say it was the speed that led to the crash of a Fort Worth Fire engine back in February.

The crash left four Fort Worth firefighters injured, two critically, and they are still recovering.

A report from the Fort Worth Police Department shows the Fire Engine rolled over as it was headed to a house fire back in February. It was the only vehicle involved in the wreck. Officials wrapped up the investigation into the accident and concluded that speed was the only factor contributing to the crash.

Fort Worth Fire Chief Jim Davis says the department accepts the police report and is reviewing existing policies and practices to determine if changes are needed.

The Fire department is conducting an internal investigation and hopes to have that probe finished by the end of August.
